Summer Football Workouts Summer football workouts will begin for all potential Wingfield football players on Wednesday, May 29. Practices will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4-6 pm and on Saturday mornings from 9-11. Contact Coach Jeff Gibson for further information. Wingfield High School Salutes Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center Volunteer of the Year Mrs. Chandra D’Avy Mrs. Chandra D’Avy is a strong supporter of Wingfield High School; especially, the JROTC Program as a member of Parent Support Group. Mrs. D’Avy gives tirelessly of her time and energy to the school and numerous community organizations. She is very deserving of the Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center Volunteer of the Year Award. Go Falcon Parents!  Are You Stronger Than A Wingfield Falcon? Apparently, hardly any athletes at the Mississippi High School Activities Association State Powerlifting Meet were stronger than a Falcon! D.T. McWilliams, Shamar Burse, and Shamaree Burse all finished in first place and Chaz Sheppard finished top five to catapult Wingfield to a 4th place finish overall. Coach Spell and ALL the Falcons should be proud of this accomplishment as this was the first EVER team and the ONLY JPS team to make it to the state finals. Go Falcons! Gear Up Summer Program Now Accepting Applications Are you interested in GEAR UP MS Summer Academies this summer? Would you like to spend 2 weeks at USM, Jackson State University, Alcorn State University, Mississippi Valley State University or Ole Miss? The academies will focus on creating an awareness of pre-orientation experiences which address institutions’ academics and support systems, campus logistics, career awareness, and enrichment/recreational activities for participants. JPS Summer School Registration Summer school for high school students who failed a subject will be held at Provine High School ONLY. Tuition is $260 for one credit and $130 for 1/2 credit and must be paid in cash only at the time of registration. Classes run from June 5 - July 24. Click here to read more. First Ever Wingfield High School - Vector Jiu-Jitsu Tournament Dozens of Jiu-Jitsu grapplers, both male and female met on the mat at Wingfield on Saturday, April 8 in the Wingfield High School gym. Not only did Wingfield High School students participate, but others from around the metro area came to participate in the tournament. There were also demonstrations by Jiu-Jitsu black belts.
